About Us

The Santee Lions Club was chartered in November 1990 by the International Association of Lions Clubs.  The Santee Lions Club and the Rancho Santee Lions Association (a 501(c)(3) organization) and it's members have worked hard at various projects and events with their main thrust  in three areas.  First as with all Lions Clubs we work within our community to help  those who are sight impaired and/or blind,  Secondly we work to help those who are hearing impaired or deaf, and Third we help to imporve our communnity by raising and donating funds to the schools, senior center, food bank and other areas where help is needed in Santee and our surrounding communities.

 

Community Service ( A brief accounting of our service to the community of Santee since 1990)

Modernized an elemnetary school in Baja California (Just north of Rosarito Beach) Received including adding running water and flush bathrooms. (Received recognition from the Mexican Government Education Department also from Baja California Governor) 

Adopted a boys orphanage in Tecate B.C.

Developed Curb Cuts for the Registar of Voters (enables handicapped voters to get to their polling places countywide.)

Performed free "Diabetes Screenings in San Diego and Imperial Counties, 14 years and continuing

Cooked at several School Halloween Carnicvals (all funds went to the school)

Cooked  for Teachers Appreciation Day in Santee Schools.

Lions Handicapped Fishing Pier at Santee Lakes (Lake 4)

Strike for Sight Bowling Tournament (11 years)

Fashion show for Deaf and Hearing Impaired  (7 years)

Hosted and cooked at Community Health Fairs (4 years)

Cooked at Santee Easter Egg Hunt 7 years (proceeds went to Santee Little Tyke Recreation programs)

Manned grocery tent in Harbison Canyon after 2003 Fire Storm ensuring all residents have food and essentials free.

Donated and delivered food and bedding and other essentials to fire fighters during 2003 fire storm.

Donated funds to Santee Magnet School for Sight Impaired for Braille Processor

Pancake Breakfasts to build a Sensory Garden at Santee Lakes.

The Santee Lions provide such services as:

Eye glasses for school children whose parents can not afford them

Hearing aids for those who do not have insurance and otherwise would not be able to get them.

Emergency Disaster aid to our residents.

Provide fresh picked fruit to the Santee Food Bank for the needy.

Provide excess event food to the Santee Senior Center and various other charities.

Where ever there is a need in our community we will provide aid.
